Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee is a female Bollywood actress from India. She is from the state of W.Bengal in India. She is the daughter of retired director Ram Mukherjee and her mother Krishna formerly worked as a playback singer. Her date of birth is March 21, 1978. She has a brother who is known by the name Raja Mukherjee .Raja Mukherjee is also a film producer.Rani Mukherjee is very beautiful and so she is very popular among other actors and actresses in the indian film industry as well. Debashree Roy,her maternal aunt was also very well known Bengali actress.Rani's cousin sister Kajol is also very successful and famoun Bollywood actress. She is well known for her sexy image in the film industry.

She started her career by playing a role in the her first Bengali film Biyer Phool. In hindi films she came later after her first Bengali film. Her first Hindi Film was "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" where she acted and played a major role. Though this film was not praised much and did not do well in the box office. May be you can say that was just a trial film for her whiich could not deliever her much as an actress.

But just after "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" she gave 2 hit films to the indian film industry. The first one was "Ghulam" and the second one was "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ". Infact for her film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai " she won her first Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actress category.Her film "Ghulam" is a 1998 Bollywood film directed by Vikram Bhatt. While her film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" is a sort of romantic and comedy film which was released in India and the United Kingdom(UK) on October 16, 1998. The film became very very popular in U.K. The story of the film was written by Karan Johar and directed by him as well.The film stars one of the most popular on-screen pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Rani Mukherjee features in a supporting role, while Salman Khan has an extended cameo appearance.

The year 2004 was the turning point in her career as a film actress.In the year 2004 her acting in the film "Yuva" and the commercially successful Film "Hum Tum" gave her two more awards - the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for the former, and the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the latter. She played the role of of a Pakistani lawyer in the film "Veer-Zaara" which gave her many award nominations.

In 2005, Rani played the main actress role in 4 high-profile films . The film "Bunty Aur Babli" and "The Rising" were among the best films of the year 2005.She also received critical acclaim for her brilliant acting in the film "Black" co-starring with Amitabh Bachchan. The successful films by Rani in the year 2005 made her one of the favorites among Indian film directors.

Rani had two more releases in 2006: "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" directed by Karan Johar, which was one of the most successful movies of the year 2006 and another film was "Baabul" by B.R.Choppra which was almost a flopp movie.
